PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The MyFreeTaxes Partnership is a national campaign that empowers working individuals and families with low-to-moderate incomes to file their federal and state taxes online for free. Specialists will respond to incoming phone calls, emails, chats and other forms of contact and provide assistance to taxpayers seeking technical support and navigation assistance with the MyFreeTaxes website and tax preparation application.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Provides first-level contact and issue resolution for users of the MyFreeTaxes.com website. Responds to inquiries concerning website navigation and basic income tax preparation. Troubleshoots technical problems and escalates issues as needed. Refers taxpayers in need of in-person tax preparation services to the appropriate resources.
Correctly logs contacts and documents caller demographics and referrals. Follows protocol and laws relating to privacy, confidentiality and/or anonymity. Conducts follow-up as per policy to ensure the inquirer's needs have been met.
Participates in 40 hours of training to receive advanced-level IRS tax preparation certification.
Maintains flexibility in scheduling to meet the needs of the project. Shift times may vary between the hours of 8am and 8pm, Monday through Saturday.

Frequent contact with the general public via phone, email and chat.
Qualifications:
Combination of education and experience normally represented by a Bachelor's Degree (or degree in progress) and one to three years experience in finance, accounting or tax preparation. Must have an understanding of the general principles of computer systems operation and be familiar with a variety of web browsers. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), patience, punctuality, and good problem-solving skills required.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
