PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Secretariat for Catechetical Formation witnesses to the Gospel through the evangelizing and catechizing mission of the Catholic Church.

This position exists to assist in fulfilling the mission of the Secretariat for Catechetical Formation:
to commit our expertise, experience, and energies to lead and serve those who are carrying out the catechetical ministries within the Diocese of Cleveland.
In carrying out this mission, the incumbent provides administrative and coordinating support for the Catechetical Team, Director of Catholic Identity and Newman Campus Ministry.
Responsibilities:
Provides high level, professional, administrative, secretarial and clerical support to the Secretary for Catechetical Formation and as needed, provides such support for other Directors in the Secretariat including Catholic Identity and Newman Campus Ministry.
Plan, prioritize, and organize the diversified office support needs, collaborating with and delegating to other administrative support staff.
Establish positive professional relationships with the various stakeholders with which the Secretariat/Office connects and collaborates.
Prepare general correspondence, operate a variety of office technology hardware and software, file, copy, and answer phones.
Provide welcome and hospitable reception to visitors and staff.
Prepare regular announcements from the Secretariat, and other announcements as needed.
Using Diocesan and Office of Catechetical Formation protocol, track correspondence and maintain proper file retention.
Assist with planning and coordinating meetings, seminars, and other events.
Keep accurate calendars for the Secretary and assist with tracking schedules for various staff.
Maintain accurate electronic files, maintain staff files, and financial files.
Facilitate financial payments, and maintain budget and expense accounts.
Facilitate and process check requests and deposits.
Update the Diocesan Directory as needed and assist with statistics on personnel, parish catechetical programming and activities of the Secretariat.
Coordinate timely submissions to the Diocesan Memorandum on behalf of the Secretariat.
Preparation in Catechetical Media grant applications.
Collection and organization of submissions and communicating awards to recipients.
Qualifications:
Familiarity of the Catholic Church, Catholic faith formation, and the traditions, values, and teachings of the Catholic Church.
Associate's Degree or two years of higher education.
Bachelor's degree or equivalency preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years training in business, office administration, or secretarial responsibilities.
Fluency in Spanish (speaking and writing) is encouraged.
Demonstrated ability to work with highly confidential and sensitive information, and to handle calls and contacts of sensitive nature specific to the Secretariat.
Excellent skills in preparing and formatting written correspondence and documents.
Experience and proficiency with a variety of software, data management, websites, etc.
Excellent telephone and interpersonal skills.
Dependability and accuracy in completing work assignments in a timely manner.
Capacity and enthusiasm for being flexible and collaborative with other staff members.
Dedicated to providing a highly professional experience and to participating in an office environment of respect, courtesy, and diplomacy.
Professionally and compassionately manage calls and contacts of sensitive nature.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
