The Senior IT Business Analyst works as a liaison among stakeholders in order to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies and information systems. Understands business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and recommends solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals. Interprets and transforms information based on business requirements and provides the data for delivery. Conducts detailed research of vendor products and assists with general project management. The TAG IT POS Business Analyst will be directly involved with working with the TAG IT Point of Sales team, the TAG IT Marketing team, the TAG IT Center of Excellence team, and the TAG IT PMO to define requirements for changes TAG IT systems in order to expedite projects, obtain project goals, and deliver the best possible systems solutions. Projects will encompass TAG IT Point-of-Sale, CPR, Inventory, Ordering and Reporting Systems. Essential Functions Strategy & Planning o Seek opportunities continuously to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships. o Identify client organization's strengths and weaknesses and suggest areas of improvement to address and resolve business issues. o Push creative thinking beyond the boundaries of existing industry practices and client mindsets. Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions. Acquisition & Deployment o Gather, analyze and document business and functional requirements from clients and business users. This includes analysis of critical reporting use cases by functional area and ensuring all relevant data is properly interfaced. o Analyze, document, and improve workflows, processes, and standards. o Understand business process management and business requirements of the customers and translating them to specific software requirements. o Communicate effectively with internal teams and external clients to deliver functional requirements including GUI, screen and interface designs. o Act as an interface between business units, technology teams and support teams. o Provide technical guidance concerning business implications of application development projects. o Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions with project management. o Manage client expectations effectively. o Work with Quality Assurance to build and validate test cases against all requirements. o Analyze application defects to determine if they fall within scope of project requirements. o Participate in post-project analysis to reflect upon successes, failures, and lessons learned. Operational Management o Working within the BA framework of TAG IT, create and maintain operational documentation including Entity Relationship Diagrams, Data Dictionaries, Functional/Technical Specs, and other documentation as required. o Provide training and documentation for supported applications. o Utilize existing systems to track and manage requests and issues. o Review and edit requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution within the group. o Provide application expertise as a project resource. o Train and mentor other Business Analysts as assigned. Incidental Functions o Prepare and lead presentations as requested. o Research or prototype new tools and/or technologies. o Assist with other projects as necessary to contribute to efficiency and effectiveness of the teamwork. o Lead internal teams/task forces on initiatives as assigned. o Minimal travel, up to 5%, may be required o Work outside the standard office 7.5 hour workday may be required. Position Requirements Formal Education & Certification o Bachelor degree in IT, Business or related field or equivalent experience. Knowledge & Experience o 5
years IT and/or Business experience. o 5
years of Business Analyst experience. o 3
years working with internal clients and/or external agencies/partners. o Well versed in Microsoft Office applications. o Understanding of various essential business functions of an organization. o Strong technical knowledge and the ability to understand customer's needs. o Ability to facilitate process mapping activities and working knowledge of mapping techniques. o Understanding of Internet, Intranet, Extranet and client/server architectures. o Familiarity with how legacy and web-based system interfaces with each other. o Experience with Agile methodologies a plus. Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Business Intelligence & AnalyticsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
