A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A COMMERCIAL ROOFING ESTIMATOR As a Commercial Roofing Estimator, you work with other team members to provide customers with detailed and accurate roof estimates and proposals.
You use your blueprint takeoff and computer skills to create each estimate and proposal, including a comprehensive outline of the work that needs to be performed, any bidding information, forms, drawings, and digital photos.
Knowledgeable about various roofing systems, you provide the best solution for each customer.
Occasionally, you get on the roof during pre-bid meetings to inspect and determine whether it can be repaired or if a replacement is necessary.
You review each bid package to make sure that it meets the customer's specifications.
Additionally, you work with project managers to make sure in-progress work order changes, approvals, submittals, and project close-outs are completed correctly.
You act as a bridge between the sales and production teams to ensure a proper handoff of your work.
Throughout the progress of a job, you follow up with customers to create and maintain strong working relationships.
You love working directly with our customers and take pride in the part you play in the success of our operations! QUALIFICATIONS FOR A COMMERCIAL ROOFING ESTIMATOR Blueprint takeoff experience Experience in the commercial roofing industry Ability to climb ladders, walk through job sites, and navigate roofing systems If you have experience in a similar position, we want to talk to you! We are flexible on the number of years of experience for this role, as we also value talent and interest.
Experience in commercial roofing estimating is preferred but not required.
Experience using Edge and various cloud-based software would be a plus.
