Join the team and become part of our family! POSITION PURPOSE/MISSION:
Prepare and polish micros.
Conduct procedures such as; Rockwell Hardness, Tensile and Reduction of Area, rate decarburization, rate grain size, and macroetch testing in accordance to ASTM standards.
Read, verify, and identify out of calibration micrometer/calipers.
Maintain control charts of materials standards values.
Perform various other duties as assigned.
Responsible for own safety and the safety of others in the area.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Frequent standing and lifting up to 10 lbs.
Occasional sitting, walking, push/pull, carrying, reaching over 15 away from the body, reaching above shoulder, forceful motion, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
Minimal foot use, below waist level work, climbing, balancing, use of fine motor skills, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Ability to meet the physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as provided in detail in the Job Analysis Database.
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Basic computer skills, Proficient in basic math skills.
Basic communication skills.
Ability to work well with other employees.
Ability to follow and give instructions.
Basic problem solving skills.
PREFERRED
Qualifications:
Quality Management Systems (QMS) experience.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Prepare and polish micros.
Conduct procedures such as; Rockwell Hardness, Tensile and Reduction of Area, rate decarburization, rate grain size, and macroetch testing in accordance to ASTM standards.
Read, verify, and identify out of calibration micrometer/calipers.
Maintain control charts of materials standards values.
Upon assignment manage the gauge track system for the Rolling Mill and Melt shop.
Use measuring tools and follow IEC 17025.
Perform miscellaneous duties as instructed by the supervisor.
Follow and comply with all safety and work rules.
Follow Environmental, Quality and Safety Management System procedures and requirements.
