Quick Apply Full-time 9 hours ago Full Job Description The Talent Development and Recruiting Manager will provide strategic direction and implementation for all talent acquisition, professional development and training programs focused on professional on-boarding, core legal and professional skills, and leadership development, as well as cultural initiatives around engagement, work-life effectiveness, and other areas.
The Talent Development and Recruiting Manager is responsible for designing and implementing innovative and impactful learning programs, including curricula for all Firm professionals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, TASKS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES Manage all aspects of the talent acquisition effort, including but not limited to meeting with practice chairs and co-chairs to determine staffing needs, building a strong candidate pipeline, attracting strong talent, recruiting, and onboarding.
Creatively source candidates using various methods including search firms, internal referrals and leads, and research of targets and prospects.
Interview applicants for administrative positions, conduct background checks and check references, and prepare employment offers to ensure equity in compensation levels of all employees.
Manage relationships and contracts with vendors, including the fee structure for temporary and permanent placements, and actively liaise with recruiting agencies.
Manage the development of people processes in conjunction with the Chief Human Resources Officer and Practice Management/Client Services Manager relating to staffing needs, to ensure a timely and sufficient supply of talented, skilled, experienced people capable of meeting business needs.
In consult with the Managing Partner and Practice Management/Client Services Manager, coordinate workforce and client team assignment management.
Build core legal and advisory skills training programs to support lawyer, and business professionals' development of core competencies, and to develop a core curriculum of training for all client-facing professionals Develop an approach for the team leads and practices to monitor their pipeline of talent, identify the learning and/or development needs of timekeepers in the group, and provide appropriate client opportunities, training, mentoring, coaching, and resources to help them develop Partner with Firm leadership to improve all Firm training programs and tools to be more interactive, practical, and effective, applying advanced adult learning theory and relevant technologies Partner with Practice Management/Client Services Manager and Chief Human Resources Officer in managing professionals' performance review cycles (e.
g.
, annual reviews, interim evaluations, performance improvement plans) Participate in client surveys on a regular basis to ensure HR/Recruiting related demographic information is accurate and up to date.
Maintain an understanding of other Firm professional development programs through industry association participation Oversee flexible work arrangement program for professional staff and continuing legal education (CLE) course accreditation and compliance program Manage effective and consistent programs to enhance the work/life effectiveness for professionals Provide leadership to identify operational issues and requirements related to design, implementation, and performance of client team dynamics and operational processes.
Observe, evaluate, and test existing operations and procedures.
Identify problems, develop, and implement improvements and or modifications.
Work closely with the Chief Human Resources Officer to ensure regulatory compliance of reviews, employment, and HR-related other processes Lead the Firm's Well-Being and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committees Assume additional responsibilities as requested SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES A broad range of experience in planning, budgeting, and operational management Excellent written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing strategic business plans Excellent organizational skills, pro-active, innovative, and forward thinking Possess strong business judgment Strong understanding of finance and measures of performance Solid understanding of management best practices Excellent organizational and leadership skills Must be technology-adept and have excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office Outstanding attention to detail Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, often with short time-frames Ability to work remotely with team members as well as manage multiple projects while prioritizing work assignments High degree of discretion, diplomacy, and a commitment to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or related field.
Minimum of six (6) years of experience in talent acquisition, professional development, human resources and/or law firm operations (e.
g.
, Specialist or Manager at an AMLAW 100 firm).
Professional human resources certification desired.
Experience in HR/Talent Management, preferably in a professional services firm environment.
Experience working across multiple locations and jurisdictions.
