Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to maintain quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products, and recording quality results.
This position reports to the Quality Assurance Manager.
Essential Functions:
Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; inputting data into quality sheets.
Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions, calling for repairs.
Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

Responsibilities:
Inspect 1st piece samples from production lines and vendors.
Records results into Quality sheets.
Perform receiving inspection production parts and entering the results of these inspections into Quality Assurance database.
Assist in the calibration of in-house gaging and entering the results of these calibrations into the calibration database.
Complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations.
Keeps work area clean.
Performs other work as directed by supervision.
Required Physical and Environmental Demands:
Stand for prolonged periods of time.
Work and move among departments.
Excellent hand/eye coordination.
Lift up to 40 pounds.
Manual dexterity to operate primary and secondary equipment.

Education, Experience and Skills Required:
A mechanical background for the equipment, processes, inspection procedures, and methods of manufacturing our product within their area.
Ability to operate precision inspection equipment (CMM) and general inspection equipment including optical comparator, micrometers, calipers, and indicators.
Ability to perform calibration on a variety of gages.
High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two (2) years' of related quality experience.
Ability to read, write and communicate in English to promote trainability and interpret work documents including manuals.
Good knowledge of Microsoft office tools such as Word and Excel.
Basic math skills, such as:
addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and decimals in order to read understand blueprints and operate measurement instruments.
High energy level, comfortable handling multiple tasks in conjunction with day-to-day activities.
Good interpersonal skills.
Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature, flexible.
Good reasoning abilities, sound judgment.
Good communication skills.
Resourceful and well organized.
Able to perform without direct supervision.
