Medical Student Education Coordinator

Position Summary/Essential Duties:
This position will manage operations for the medical student, undergraduate Education in the Department o Medical student clerkship coordination - rotations every 12 weeks - 50% o Acting Internship coordination - rotations every month - 30% o Assign students to teams, ambulatory doctors for their clerkship assignment o Arrange and set up didactic schedules (room or zoom assignments, coordinate with teaching doctors, keep goals and objectives updated and on Case Canvas platform) o Coordinate with medical school o Coordinate with hospital onboarding staff so students have appropriate access and credentials to work o Develop system to keep track and updated with student and teacher evaluations o Maintain relationship and contact with medical school to help adapt to any curricular changes o Coordinate with other clerkship coordinators o Coordinate meetings with CCF, Metro and VA IM Case SOM affiliate clerkship directors and coordinators to help improve and maintain our rotation consistency and strengths.
o Help with formatting, writing and uploading of letters (>100 per season) from the Department of Medicine o Collect and report data regarding student assessment, student achievement and teacher productivity about the effort our department puts out and the success of our students.
o Help support and develop curricular change for the clerkship and acting internship o Help support educational scholarship initiatives by the Clerkship and Acting Internship Directors.
o Communicate with students to make sure they have appropriate directions, handouts for didactics and training, calendars, resident teacher notification o Internal Medicine Interest Group - 13% o Help students to organize monthly events with regards to financing, food (if in person) o Help arrange informational meetings regarding Internal Medicine Residency Recruitment o MSTP Clinical Director Support - 5% o Help with MDPhD student onboarding for clinical tutorial placement during their PhD years o Help to coordinate the MSTP spring refresher curriculum for students returning from their PhD to MD final years o Help to coordinate an OSCE (objective structured clinical exam) with standardized patients, young physician faculty members as graders for the MSTP students prior to their return to MD final years.
o Medical Student Electives in Department (besides the acting internship which is listed above) - 2% o Serve as the liaison for medical student elective coordinators in the different divisions of Medicine (pulmonary, hematology/oncology, cardiology, nephrology, rheumatology, endocrinology, infectious disease, and gastroenterology).
Qualifications:
Education.
Bachelor's degree required.
Computer proficiency essential.
Required Credentials, License, and / or Certifications.
None Experience & Knowledge:
5-8 years of professional/administrative experience.
Experience in an academic health system desired.
Provides a high level of programmatic management, analysis and support of medical student education through knowledge of medical student education and GME requirements.
Effective communication skills and knowledge of hospital policies and procedures.
Demonstrates ability to make independent decisions to determine appropriate course of action within the context of policies and standards for students.
Operates with independence.
Prepare calendars to help coordinate students, residents and attendings Ability to analyze and compile data to demonstrate effort and achievements of physicians and students.
Assist with assessment process particularly recruitment of evaluations.
Ability to work with Case SOM educators, registrar and share information on medical school platform for students to access.
Work effectively with other citywide affiliated hospital IM education coordinators Computer skills - Word, Excel, Power Point, RedCap, Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills Must possess excellent organizational skills Special Skills & Equipment Knowledge:
Knowledgeable in areas of Medical student educational, Graduate Medical Education and the UH Health System policies and procedures that support education.
Ability to work with different support persons throughout UH and medical school in support of students.
This role encounters Protected Health Information (PHI) as part of regular responsibilities.
UH employees must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain PHI for our patients.
Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
