The Engineering Technicina is responsible for maintaining and operating production equipment to optimize availability, quality and speed inclusive of both mechanical and electrical subsystems.
Responsible for tracking daily operational effectiveness, working closely with Electro Mechanics, Operations Manager and Production Supervisors to report summarized operations results and help guide efficient operation of the Packaging and Dispensing Systems.
Responsible for spearheading engineering projects:
process and equipment improvement, preventative maintenance effectiveness, and material runnability issues.
The ability to travel up to 50% is required The typical travel schedule is every other week for up to 10 days at a time.
Must be located near or be willing to relocate to ONE of the following cities:
Baltimore, MD Cleveland, OH Dayton, OH
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include tasks designed to improve maintenance, reliability and robustness of production equipment:
Maintain and/or improve system performance to design specifications.
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on dispensing and unit dose packaging equipment within priorities and on time.
Where authorized, operate Dispensing and Packaging systems in support of the fulfillment Operations Technicians, to ensure that the Systems are operated as designed and runs are completed on time.
Troubleshoot system issues and take corrective actions independently, while minimizing production downtime.
Highlight system issues for permanent corrective actions and process improvements.
Requisition repair materials, machine components and parts.
Establish, maintain and organize spare parts inventory.
Responsible for assembly and testing of various mechanical devices and complete systems according to blueprints, written or verbal specifications with minimal supervision.
Documentation and/ or specifications may be ambiguous.
Define training and preventive maintenance programs to optimize and maintain equipment.
Use of computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders, calibrations and spare parts.
Monitor spare part usage Identify Critical and Spare Parts , establishing the appropriate stocking levels Order spare parts to ensure proper inventory levels Working with equipment supplier to approve Paxit machines through factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT).
Onsite support for startup of new pharmacies (installation, onsite training and startup support as SME).
Training Train production operators/ employees/EM's as appropriate for set-ups, operation of all equipment, etc.
Review and provide constructive feedback for shift pass downs and completed work orders.
Normal work schedule is Day shift Monday through Friday.
Some evening and weekend support will be required for project implementation and issue resolution.
The Engineering Technician will also be one of the employees in the Paxit support on-call rotation with primary on-call support responsibilities for one week every 4-6 weeks
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Packaging Engineering, or related Engineering field (Chemical, etc.
) or demonstrated skills, knowledge and abilities achieved while working as a Remedi SeniorCare Employee 3-6 years of electro-mechanic experience in a manufacturing environment PLC experience Proficient in use of power tools/ measuring devices Basic background in general machine shop practices and basic electrical experience with both low voltage control systems and 3 phase power systems up to 220V Project management and/or supervisory experience.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
