We are currently seeking a detail-oriented candidate with healthcare compliance experience for the role of Compliance Officer.
The Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that physicians, management, and all employees are following the rules and regulations of regulatory agencies, ensuring company policies and procedures are being followed and that the organization meets company compliance standards.
Qualifications 2 years' experience in healthcare preferably Dermatology Clinical Experience Experience with Quality Payment Program/MIPS and Quality Reporting 3-5 years in healthcare Compliance Bachelor's in health policy, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred Certification in Healthcare compliance or Healthcare privacy compliance preferred Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions Overall stewardship of compliance functions.
Oversee compliance training and education programs for all Apex locations.
Responds to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures.
Develops and oversees a system for uniform handling of such violations.
Ensures corporate and clinical policies are accurate, current, and in compliance with federal and state regulations.
Reviews policies and procedures, clinical and non-clinical, companywide.
Conducts Audits to ensure compliance with HIPPA and OSHA standards.
Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, direct the development and implementation of corrective action plans for the resolution of problematic issues, and provide guidance on how to avoid similar situations in the future.
Collaborate with other departments (e.
g.
, Operations, Human Resources, Marketing IT, etc.
) to direct compliance issues to appropriate entities for investigation and resolution.
Consult with outside legal counsels as needed.
Assists with autoclave procedures and quality controls.
Maintain knowledge of electronic medical record Demonstrates proper judgment and decision-making skills when necessary and adheres to practice policies.
(OSHA/HIPAA/SRA etc.
) Anticipates the needs and future needs of the company and acts to meet those needs.
EMR/ ECW/scanning/word knowledge Coordinate the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS).
Report MIPS performance to maximize incentive opportunities and avoid penalties.
Evaluate MIPS quality measures, new improvement activities and keep them up to date.
MIPS- charting to compliance.
Ensure MIPS quality decile numbers are kept at 7 or above for the following measures:
110, 111, 128, 130, 137, 47.
Ensure the remaining quality measures decile numbers are kept at 3.
Ensure MIPS PI (promoting interoperability) performance rate percentage is > 90%.
Provider Charting audits performed periodically to ensure compliance with standards This position will require some travel with reimbursement to other offices and legal authorization to work in the US.
