Director, Safety Support

Job DescriptionCleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opportunity for a Director, Safety Support, residing at our headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio.
This position will be responsible for providing guidance and support across all of Cleveland-Cliffs Steel sites in maintaining safety compliance with all internal and external requirement with a special emphasis on identifying opportunities to drive continuous improvement.
The position will also support the sites operations in-depth investigations and the development of corrective actions.
Summary of
Responsibilities:
Engages and motivates staff through open communication, employee participation, performance management, and professional development Work as an extended part of the corporate safety team Provide technical guidance and leadership to site safety and operations leaders on safety needs Investigate and evaluate potentially more effective safety methods Investigate underlying causes of safety gaps and deficiencies; and provide solutions Regularly travel to sites and conduct assessments, ensure compliance and offer guidance on performance improvement plans Develop and publish training performance metrics that inform and enable continual improvement Assist as a safety technical expert on periodic and special focus audits Actively maintain positive joint union/management relations Lead Injury Reduction Teams Minimum
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree Health and Safety 7 Years Steel Making related Experience In-depth Knowledge of various Incident investigation techniques.
Knowledge of Health and Safety programs and regulations (OSHA, FRA, NRC, etc.
) Experience leading and working with remote and distributed teams across multiple facilities Experience in developing and maintaining effective relationships with union safety leaders Strong leadership skills with ability to earn respect, promote teamwork, and lead by example Ability to effectively interact with all levels of executive, senior, and plant management Excellent communication skills, both oral and written Ability to work effectively under minimal supervision in a fast-paced team environment 30-50% variable travel with overnight stays Advanced Proficiency Microsoft Office Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
