The Technology Manager, part of the Digital and Platform Technologies (DPT) group, is responsible for managing the technology portfolio to enable adoption of OPC UA and improve connectivity with third-party devices.
Key responsibilities include the evaluation, definition and execution of system level requirements and the delivery of common technology assets to Rockwell Automation software and partners.
This position requires an understanding of the Rockwell Automation portfolio, the automation market, competitive offerings, and customer use cases.
This role interacts frequently with architects, product management, engineering, other Rockwell Automation businesses and third-party partners.
Essential Functions:
This position acts as the key liaison between market needs, product roadmaps and technology development.
The primary responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
Develop system-level strategy for the adoption of the OPC UA toolkit across the Rockwell Automation portfolio Prioritize feature roadmap and collaborate with engineering on the development of the OPC UA toolkit Gather use cases and requirements for OPC UA from Rockwell business units and partners Maintain alignment with other subject matter experts across Rockwell Automation Perform evaluations of internal and external technologies to ensure world-class technology development Attend technical symposiums and exhibits on industrial control systems to expand knowledge of available and competitive technology Represent Rockwell Automation in standards activities as appropriate Engage with businesses and partners on general integration with third-party devices Work as part of a cross functional team on system-level strategies to drive a consistent user experience for the Rockwell Automation software portfolio Basic
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree Legal authorization to work in the US is required - we will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening Ability to travel up to 15%, including internationally Preferred Qualifications Typically requires 8
