Job Description:

SUMMARY
Provides guidance to Adult Diploma program students before andduring their first semester in completing the necessary steps and accessingappropriate student support services to aid the transition to college. Providestransition services and follow up to over 1,000 students in the program. Works onfirst year transition programs and activities and coordinates with otherstudent support personnel across the College.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
  • Refers students to appropriate support services and utilizes a case management approach to working with, supporting, communication and tracking interactions with students in the program
  • Responsible for connecting new, returning and continuing students with enrollment and completion support services, and co-curricular activities
  • Recruits potential students for Integrated Education and Training opportunities (IET)
  • Supports the enrollment and retention processes by assisting students with navigating My Tri-C Space, assessment scores, self-service registration, unofficial educational record, basic financial aid information, current class schedule and orientation assistance
  • Composes and prepares transition correspondence to continuously remain in contact with Aspire students and staff
  • Coordinates the follow-up communication plan for Applied-not-Registered students
  • Develops and presents transition services information to over sixty Aspire classrooms
  • Conducts external outreach in the community through approved classroom visits to present Transition services available to students
  • Works with other departments to coordinate on campus tours and participation in campus recruitment activities
  • Effectively prioritizes work and uses initiative to suggest and implement process improvements
  • Maintains accurate program records and assists with metric tracking and report preparation
  • Conducts periodic follow-up with students who have transitioned by discussing employment, career development and provides additional support if needed
  • Responsible for tracking the results of transitional services in the program's database and state agency
  • Provides a full range of support to the Adult Diploma Program
  • Performs other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Significant related experience may substitute for education
  • Minimum of two years of demonstrated full-time experience working in college student retention services
  • Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team
  • Demonstrated experience in a role requiring diverse problem solving methods in a variety of situations

  • Possess basic knowledge of fundamental adult learning concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations as it pertains to the departmental focus
