services
within an engagement. These duties include, but are not limited to: managing the tax services with numerous engagements running simultaneously, building and maintaining client relationships, and billing and collection. Tax Senior Managers provide leadership, direction, and coordination of resources and personnel to ensure client satisfaction in the planning and execution of tax engagements. Duties: Maintains a working knowledge of
accounting
rules and regulations; has developed a comprehensive understanding of most areas of the tax law including state and local, estate and gift, corporate, partnership, individual, and trust taxation. Has developed an in-depth technical expertise in at least two or three technical tax areas. Performs engagement planning with client scheduling committee and staff including: scheduling personnel, adhering to due dates, and establishing and monitoring budgets. During fieldwork, delegates appropriate responsibility to seniors and managers for the timely completion of the engagement and maintains greater responsibility for the ongoing satisfaction of the client. Provides oversight to the engagement team to ensure that required information is being shared and deadlines are being met. Gives timely and consistent feedback and coaching to staff. Completed performance evaluations in a timely fashion to assist in their career development and advancement. Communicates with appropriate partner or officer regarding status of engagements, including significant tax issues or the tax consequences of transactions which have occurred or will likely occur. Performs an essential part of the client service team on major clients, assuming responsibility for tax planning issues and controlling the tax-risk aspects of all compliance requirements. Assists in billing and other administrative and practice
management
matters. Practice development matters include: following-up on referrals received, developing information to coordinate the proposal team, drafting proposals and actively participating in proposal meetings. Interacts continuously with other departments in order to provide clients with a comprehensive package of services. Respects and maintains the confidential nature of the client relationship, always projecting a professional image as a representative and as a role model for staff. Complies with appropriate continuing professional education requirements. Actively participates in firm and
community
programs, including social or professional associations to expand professional network. Required: Certified Public
accountant
