Among the 200 largest law firms in the country (AmLaw 200), Thompson Hine has grown since its founding over a century ago to a firm of approximately 400 lawyers with offices in seven cities.
We are currently seeking an experienced Immigration Paralegal. This position can be located in either our Cleveland or Cincinnati office.
Under the direct supervision of our Immigration Partners, position responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Preparation of Petitions - drafting supporting letters and identifying needed supporting documents. Research - determining Department of Labor and North American Industry Class System classifications; researching prevailing wage for occupations and researching consulate procedures; monitor sites for any updates or changes to processing procedures. Coordination of PERM Process - managing the recruitment cycle for PERM sponsorships and developing PERM audit files. External contact with clients, government agencies and third parties. Review American Immigration Lawyers Association ( AILA ) InfoNet for updates and changes to processing procedures.
Qualified candidates will have a four year college degree and at least five years of experience supporting the immigration function (either internally for a company or with outside immigration counsel).

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
