Marketing Manager

The Marketing Manager plans, directs and coordinates marketing strategies and campaigns to meet/exceed customer expectations as well as company, product and profit growth objectives. The Marketing Manager personally performs the required duties and oversees the delegated efforts of others.
Assuming that you possess the digital, inbound-marketing mindset sought, success in this role will require that you get to know each customer type and their unique challenges and expectations with the aim of continually honing product/service offerings and communications to consistently exceed customer expectations. Success will also require that you get to know each member of the Client's team and the role they play in serving the customer. This is a new position that has the potential to be initially quite disruptive - with the net positive impact realized over time.
Education:
Specific degrees are not a prerequisite for consideration, but a digital mindset complemented by a robust engagement with modern media is a must. (Classically-trained marketers will be considered only if they have evolved their knowledge and skills to harness the platforms of the 21st century.)
Communication skills are essential. In developing and presenting your marketing plans, you will communicate (orally and in writing) with management, sales, production, customer care and editorial. You must have the ability to translate what you plan to do and why you plan to do it in a manner that clearly conveys the business value as well as the customer value. This means showing both the response to VOC and potential customer engagement (pageviews, clicks, time on site) as well as revenue potential or expense reduction. Further, you will need to communicate with external partners for technical/web- related projects and creative in addition to communicating effectively with all types of customers. Finally, you will need to author most marketing communications - you need to be an excellent copywriter.
Project Management skills are essential. Internal and external partners will contribute to most marketing programs. You must possess the discipline to document your plan, establish a realistic schedule, allocate a budget, establish targets and relentlessly seek buy-in and consensus from the team all the way through the process. You must understand and be committed to post-production reviews to identify what worked, what didn't and what will make the team stronger for next time.
Analytical and Analytics skills are essential. You will be reviewing many different customer types, demographics and needs. You will be reviewing market reports, product plans and historical and projected revenue figures. You will be reviewing many different marketing platforms, strategies and performance criteria. You must be able to understand and interpret all varieties of data efficiently and effectively so that you can make prompt, informed decisions. In addition, you will be required to put your deep knowledge of common analytic tools (e.g. Google Analytics), SEO, social metrics and optimization approaches (e.g. A/B testing) to use to help us gain/retain customers in an efficient, scalable and sustainable way.
Creative skills are essential. Part of your role is to provide a vision for the marketing/promotional collateral (landing page, print/digital ad, etc.) so that it adheres to brand and position standards while optimally engaging customers and prospects. You must be able to evaluate the quality and effectiveness of the creative work that you or others produce. In addition, you must be able to create testable, trackable, scalable campaigns within the financial and human resource limitations of a ten-person company. You must continuously generate ideas for improvement and growth.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

o Participate in content packaging and dissemination by helping assemble and deliver relevant content to the right audiences, at the right time, across all of our marketing channels
o Direct and manage all social channels such that they meet/exceed specific, measurable engagement objectives
o Author and execute marketing plans, both short and long range, to achieve customer engagement/satisfaction, revenue and profit goals. Marketing strategy and tactics for each product and the company overall are expected to be defined annually and refined quarterly, with action items implemented continuously.
o Plan, manage and oversee copywriting, design, layout and production of all marketing collateral (brochures, media kits, conference programs, emails, flyers, etc.) across all platforms (print, social, web, email, tradeshows, client visits, etc.)
o Stay abreast of VOC (voice of customer) and industry dynamics to optimize market opportunities
o Establish performance metrics for all marketing activities and spearhead communication to report performance and institute continuous improvement
o Represent the client at key industry conferences (2-6x/year)
o Manage customer surveys
o Evaluate new product opportunities and customer needs
o Contribute to product pricing and planning strategy
o Contribute to and help adhere to an annual marketing budget

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
