Supervisory Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Performing patient care needs including radiotracer injections, nuclear and PET/CT imaging, radioactive therapy administration, and routine camera quality control activities. Providing for the budgeting and financial management of the Nuclear Medicine Service including budget formulation, justification, financial management; and financial reporting. Exercising responsibility for budget formulation, presentation and execution. Maintaining awareness of and information about the overall status of financial resources for the Service in order to react to changing situations with timely recommendations. Managing procurement and contracting for Nuclear Medicine, including procurement requests, evaluating proposals for work, acting as the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for procurements and contracts, and maintaining procurement and contracting records. Drafting and reviewing all contract proposals and agreements to assure accurate technical, personnel, budgetary and administrative arrangements. Providing advice to management and staff on contracting and procurement policies and issues. Holding all mandatory warrants and certification appropriate to the level of purchasing authorized. Exercising responsibility for budget formulation, presentation and execution. including maintaining awareness of and information about the overall status of financial resources for the Service in order to react to changing situations with timely recommendations. Providing for the overall administrative management for all sections (General, PET/CT, Nuclear Cardiology) of the Nuclear Medicine Service including interpreting administrative policies, developing and implementing local policies, defining administrative requirements and providing advice to top management on related issues. Serving as the principal advisory to the Supervisory Nuclear Medicine Technologist, Chief and Service Chief on all administrative management matters associated with Nuclear Medicine and actively participating in developing and implementing administrative management policies. Working closely with other Services (for example, Radiology and Radiation Oncology) to collaboratively direct and provide joint service/cross program Veteran Services (for example, Lutathera and Theraspheres therapies). Reviewing and analyzing various reports relating to quality, performance, productivity and cost effectiveness, including patient satisfaction scores and established quality performance measures and monitors. Directing scheduling staff and directly assisting and monitoring a full range of specialized tests, therapies or studies according to established methods. Basic Requirements:

Qualifications:
Certified in nuclear medicine technology by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) (N). NMTCB or ARRT (N) certification eligibility requirements are normally satisfied by one of the following:
(1) Completion of a NMTCB-recognized nuclear medicine technology program OR (2) Completion of a nuclear medicine technology program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology (JRCNMT), or other accrediting agencies as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (DOE), culminating in a certificate, associate, baccalaureate, or master's degree. Educational programs must have structured clinical training sufficient to provide clinical competency in radiation safety, instrumentation, clinical procedures, and radio-pharmacy, as deemed acceptable by the NMTCB. Experience:
In addition to meeting the basic requirements above, candidates must possess at least one year of experience at the GS-11 level or equivalent to qualify for the GS-12. Examples of qualifying experience at the GS-11 level or equivalent would include, but is not limited to:
Serving in advanced assignments including special and complex imaging procedures, advanced therapies, clinical instruction, and quality management duties within the program. Utilizing special and complex imaging procedures, advanced therapies, clinical instruction, and quality management duties within the program. Performing fusion imaging such as positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT), single photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography (SPECT/CT) and/or positron emission tomography (PET) and magnetic resonance (PET/MR) procedures that include non-diagnostic low dose CT attenuation corrected or MR fused images. In addition, the candidate must demonstrate the following Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to assign and evaluate work of subordinate staff as well as resolve problems that may interfere with the delivery of nuclear medicine services by staff members. Skill in providing complex nuclear medicine patient procedures. Ability to develop and initiate new protocols which apply to current research findings. References:

This position requires the ability to do the following:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
