SUPERVISORY ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN

GS-07 (ENTRY LEVEL POSITION) One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-06) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Experience:
maintaining accounting or financial ledgers; posting financial transactions; collections, preparing accounting reports; reconciling accounts and working with a variety of accounting and financial automated systems. GS-07 Substitution of Education for Specialized
Experience:
One full year of graduate level education may be substituted to meet the specialized experience required when it is directly related to the work of the position being filled. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. processing and auditing complex contracts and entitlement transactions; reconciling pay system and financial system data; focused in collections; working with a variety of electronic systems to review and resolve pay transaction issues. GS-08 Substitution of Education for Specialized
Experience:
Eighteen months of graduate level education may be substituted to meet the specialized experience required when it is directly related to the work of the position being filled. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. To be considered for the GS-8, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-7 or higher in the Federal service.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
