Nursing Assistant (Float Pool)

Answers patient call lights and requests; safely transports patients in gurneys, wheelchairs or transport chairs and reports all observations of the patient's condition to registered nurse. Completes hourly rounds on patients to assist with needs such as comfort, reporting pain to the RN, toileting, and assisting with getting out of bed, or turning/positioning, and preventing falls. Attends all safety huddles on units/neighborhood and provides meaningful input and concerns regarding patient safety. Uses patient safe handling equipment, including proper use of ceiling lifts to prevent patient or staff injury. Documents all nursing care in CPRS, completes ADL templates in the Community Living Center, and on all units, completes forms, reports, logs, and records. Weighs patients, obtains heights, completes vital signs as ordered, and completes intake and outputs on patients as ordered and reports to RN, accurately documents all findings in CPRS. One year above high school with courses related to the Nursing Assistant occupation. Completion of an intensive, specialized, occupation-related course of study of less than one year as a nursing assistant may also meet in full the experience requirements for GS-3. GS-5:
One year of progressively responsible assignments and experience equivalent to the GS-4 level which demonstrates knowledge, skills, and abilities that are directly related to the specific assignment. OR Successful completion of a 4-year course of study above high school leading to a bachelor's degree that included 24 semester hours of courses related to health care or possession of a bachelor's degree. (Transcripts must be submitted) AND Demonstrate the following Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
1. Ability to assist in the full range of nursing care to patients/residents with physical and/or behavioral problems in a hospital, long term care or outpatient setting under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse.2. Ability to communicate orally with patients/residents, families, interdisciplinary team and other personnel. This includes serving as a preceptor to new Nursing Assistants by assisting with the coordination of their orientation and overseeing/assessing their practical experience while in a clinical setting.3. Ability to recognize and react to emergent patient/resident care situations and intervene while waiting for assistance. The nursing assistant position requires good physical and mental health. Physical activities may include:
bending, lifting, rotating/transferring patients, and walking/standing most of an eight-hour shift. The position requires the ability to work in a highly stressful environment.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
